Dr. Desai provided a comprehensive overview of the subject, covering:
The types of sexual harassment in the workplace
The distinction between general harassment and sexual harassment
The historical context and rationale behind the enactment of
The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
Key provisions of the Act, including the constitution of the Internal Committee and its redressal mechanisms

A proud moment: AISW welcomes its alumna, now a social impact leader, as Chief Guest.

Dr. Gita Vishwas Desai Returns to Her Alma Mater as Chief Guest.
Dr. Gita Vishwas Desai, Founder and Head of Vishwas Human Capital Services, was invited as the Chief Guest for the Annual Day Celebration at her alma mater, Anand Institute of Social Work (AISW), Sardar Patel University. Known during her student days as Ms. Gita Manharlal Thakkar, this homecoming was a moment of pride, nostalgia, and deep inspiration for all in attendance.
In a heartfelt keynote, Dr. Desai shared her incredible journey — from a student of social work to an academic, corporate professional, and now a successful woman entrepreneur dedicated to social justice and workplace equity.
“When you align your dreams with purpose, the journey becomes meaningful. Dream big, and then be unstoppable in making those dreams a reality,”
— Dr. Gita Desai
Her talk resonated strongly with the current batch of students, encouraging them to explore beyond conventional career paths and commit to driving positive societal change.
The Principal of AISW and the Management Team of Shri Ramkrishna Seva Mandal expressed great pride in Dr. Desai’s accomplishments. They praised her impactful work in promoting the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) at workplaces across India — a mission rooted in empathy, equity, and legal literacy.
This moment was particularly emotional for Dr. Desai, as she was invited to speak in the very auditorium where she once received the Student Award in 2007. Now, nearly two decades later, she stood before a new generation of changemakers, symbolizing the power of perseverance and purpose.
